Tarot is the name given to a deck of 78 cards that can be used for meditation, reflection, self analysis and divination. When used in fortunetelling, Tarot cards can offer a glimpse into the future. They are useful in seeing into the very near future, if the questions asked are clear and concise.
Tarot reader, Corrine Kenner, in her book, Simple Fortunetelling with Tarot Cards, mentions that, "defining your question might be the single most important part of getting a good tarot reading."
Most people that go to get a tarot reading, only hint at the real question, as they might be confused with their life situation or not know how to articulate their dreams and fears into words. However, an experienced tarot reader should be able to help the the one being read, uncover the heart of the issue, define the question clearly, before proceeding to do the reading.
How to Phrase a Question Correctly during a Tarot Reading?
The following pointers provide some do's and dont's in phrasing tarot questions.
- Focus on one issue at a time.
- Ask open-ended questions.
- Avoid assuming that the cards might intuit the question and provide an answer.
- Avoid yes or no questions. Yes/no type of questions do not work well in a Tarot reading.
- Be as detailed as possible in constructing the question. Ask details such as who, what, when.
- Define the terms of the question clearly. For example, a date could mean a calender date or a companion. Defining what is meant, is important in getting an accurate answer.
- Include a time frame for the response, such a week, a month or a year.
- Attempt writing the question.
Examples of Good Tarot Questions
The following questions could be used as a reference to tailor to one's personal situation.
- What are some possible outcomes of this situation?
- What can one do to change a situation?
- What can be learned from a particular experience?
- How will the person being read feel today, next month or a year from now?
- Where can the person being read feel comfort?
- Who can be trusted?
- What challenges can be expected by following a specific course of action?
- How did something start and how will it end?
- Where is one's career headed?
- How can one prepare for a certain outcome?
- What could surprise the person being read?
- Will there be a significant other for the person being read, within the next year?
- What are the prospects for the new business venture?
Accurate fortunetelling with tarot is possible with card reading experience, intuition and common sense. However, its important to keep in mind that no future event is set in stone. Tarot reading is based on the probability of the most likely outcome at the time of reading. A good question can get an answer with the highest probability and the most accuracy.
